Family & Faith

I was born into a family of Christians who were actively involved in ministry, and I came to know the Lord as a young child when my older brother led me to Christ. Over the past 45+ years, by God’s grace and mercy, I’ve nearly always been connected to a church and involved in ministry. I’ve certainly had dry seasons along the way, but I’ve also experienced times of deep growth and renewed purpose in my walk with God.

I’ve been married to my amazing and patient bride since 1996. By the grace of God, we have three wonderful daughters who all live locally and, along with their husbands, are following Jesus. Our oldest gave us our first grandchild in April 2025, and we’re completely enamored with little Adelaide. These are some of my favorite people in the world. After my faith, my family is the highest priority in my life.

For over 20 years, Heidi and I have also been part of a small group (not tied to any specific church), and that group of people has become like family to us. They help keep us pointed toward Christ and have faithfully walked with us through life’s highs and lows.

Church Involvement

We’ve been active in ministry for many years, primarily in two local churches. I’ve served in AV, children’s ministry, facilities, lay counseling, marriage mentoring, music/worship, prayer, small group leadership, youth, and most recently on an incredible pastoral search team. Heidi and I love serving together and using our gifts to build up the church.

Professional Life

Outside of church, I’ve worked in a wide variety of roles—blue collar and white collar, for-profit and non-profit, from entry-level positions to management. Later in life, after a lot of encouragement from friends, family, professionals, and God, I went back to school to pursue a career in counseling. I’ve now been working as a Marriage and Family Therapist for over 10 years.

LTCC

We started checking out LTCC in September of 2022, and it quickly became clear that this is where God wants us. I’m excited about the opportunity to serve alongside the gifted leadership team at LTCC and to see how God will use and grow me in the role of Chair of the Church Council.

A Bit About Me

We enjoy spending time with friends and family, listening to and playing music, and exploring local restaurants and pubs. Heidi (very enthusiastically) loves Disneyland—we’ve been more times than I’d care to admit! I love hiking, especially when there are good views and beautiful scenery, though I don’t make time for it nearly enough. Our family also loves tabletop games—though I tend to stick with the simpler ones.

Favorite Verse

One of many favorites: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37–39)

This idea shows up throughout the Bible—starting in the Old Testament. I love that this is what’s required of us. How freeing is it that this is the call? Not always easy—but simple, clear, and powerful.
