justine peterson | CHILDREN’S ministry DEACON

After many years of teaching in Children’s Church and Equipping Hour, I began volunteering as the Children’s Ministry leader in the summer of 2019. Once COVID hit, the job of serving our kids and families grew and I came on staff in the fall of 2020. Since that time, Children’s Ministry has tried to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of our day. Our purpose continues to be to come alongside of parents as they disciple their children at home. With that mission in mind, we have provided at-home curriculum, started a mid-week children’s class (Adventure Club), increased our number of teachers, stream-lined our curriculum, and held fun outdoor events. In everything we teach, we strive to be gospel-focused as our hearts are for the children to know Jesus personally and be able to share this good news with others.

My husband and I started attending LTCC in 2009 when our own children were very young. Our oldest son is now married, has two daughters, and lives in Buckley. Our middle daughter recently got married and is finishing up her degree at Northwest University in Kirkland. And our youngest son is a freshman at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. My husband, Brian, and I met while in college at Pacific Lutheran University. We were both public school teachers before I left to stay at home with our growing family and Brian eventually stepped away to start a non-profit sports ministry in the area.

As Brian and I have devoted more of our time to serving the people of LTCC, we have developed a deeper love for our church family. We feel blessed to be able to be a small part of this faithful body of believers.
