Usher
Please arrive by 8:35am (First Service) and/or 10:20 am (Second Service) to meet by the kitchen to pray together with greeters and ushers.
Please stay at your station by the sanctuary doors during the entire service.
PRIMARY GOAL: Help people find seats and be prepared for service.
Stay aware of open places for people to sit.
Politely ask seated people to scoot together to make room for additional people.
Offer a weekly bulletin to all who enter.
NEW: Communion cups will now be available in baskets near the sanctuary doors. As regular attenders and guests enter, they may take a cup if they wish to participate in communion that day.
We want to honor those who may choose not to receive communion on a given week. For that reason, we ask that you refrain from reminding others to take a cup. Each person can make that choice quietly and prayerfully.
If you notice the baskets running low, additional cups can be found in the kitchen refrigerator. Before communion, the Pastor will invite anyone who needs a cup to raise their hand, and the ushers will bring one to them.
Thank you for helping us care for one another with grace and sensitivity.
SECONDARY GOAL: Maintain comfortable environment
Minimize distractions by closing/opening doors for people exiting/entering
Minimize distractions by closing/opening doors if foyer sound is loud
During the summer months, help manage temperature with use of fans. (Sound board will TURN OFF fans during prayer time and turn them back on afterwards)
GREETER
Please arrive by 8:35am (First Service) and/or 10:20 (Second Service) to meet by the kitchen to pray together with other greeters as well as the ushers.
Please start greeting 20 minutes before service starts (i.e. 8:40am for 9:00 am service and 10:25 am for 10:45 Service). Your nametags will be hanging on the service wall outside the church office.
Direct those with children (Birth to 4th grade) to the Children's Check-in station to get checked in and a name tag printed.
FIRST SERVICE
* Birth to 3 years can go into the nursery for the whole service
* Pre-K through 4th grade goes to first part of service with parents, then dismissed to children's church after worship. The pastor will pray over the kids and teachers and send them out.
SECOND SERVICE
* Birth to 3 years can go into the nursery for the whole service
* Pre-K through 4th grade goes to first part of service with parents, then dismissed to children's church after worship. The pastor will pray over the kids and teachers and send them out.
General Greeter Tasks:
* Smile
* Introduce yourself
* Ask if they have questions
* Be prepared to answer about church (or get back to them later with the answer)
* Invite to "New Here?" welcome table
Thank you for serving faithfully as a greeter!
DOOR GREETER (4 people each Sunday):
Goal - Ensure Every Person is Greeted.
One person will be posted at each door to open the door, smile and welcome people into the foyer. This is a time to say Hi to people you know & save catching up with them for later. Door Greeters would help direct new people to Engagement Greeter.
New: We love it when everyone enjoys visiting in the foyer prior to the start of service but want to help everyone know when it’s time for the service to start. So, a few minutes before the start of each service, especially for 2nd service, one greeter should walk around and encourage everyone to head into the sanctuary to get a seat for the start of service. You may choose to turn the foyer lights on and off a few times as a signal.
ENGAGEMENT GREETER (1 or 2 people each Sunday):
Goal - Ensure New People are Welcomed and Informed by a friendly person who is familiar with the church.
These people would be attentive to who is coming in the doors and would approach and assist new people or those with questions and have the freedom to escort them to the sanctuary or children's wing, etc. while door greeters stay at their post. Door Greeters would help direct new people to them, if possible.
Engagement Greeters will provide information such as:
bathroom location
how to sign-up for things
get them connected using the Welcome table form or Church Center
tell them about groups/activities that pertain to them…Bible studies, Senior’s activities, Children’s programs (SEE THE PAMPHLET ON CHILDREN’S KIOSK)
PIC (Person In Charge) will be in foyer most Sundays to help with new families with children.

Scripture Reader
Scripture to be read is updated weekly on our website’s Sermons page: A link to the ESV version is provided on that page.
Scripture Reading occurs immediately after worship (typically 3 songs).
NEW: Please sit as close as possible to the front of the sanctuary and IMMEDIATELY following the close of the last song in the worship set bein walking up to the podium (We want as little “dead” time as possible)
Please use the mic next to the podium or one handed to you. Please hold mic 3-6 inches from mouth. Feedback occurs when mic is too far from mouth, not too close. Thanks!
Please respect the pastor's time and not lengthen the scripture reading time. Please only read the scripture.
REMINDER - After you are finished reading the scripture please announce “you may be seated”.
