The Best Bible Study

There is a certain ice breaker question that I love to ask Christians, especially in small group settings. I forgot to ask our new Lead Pastor Andrew Middlekauff when he was up here, but it goes like this: “Aside from the resurrection, which event in Jesus’ life would you have liked to have been an eyewitness to?”

You can learn a lot about a person by their answer. I’ve had people say they would’ve liked to have been at the crucifixion of Christ at Calvary. One individual advised they would have loved to have been present when Jesus had Peter walk on water. My wife indicated she would have been overjoyed being there when Jesus welcomed the little children and blessed them.

On the day Christ was resurrected, he happened upon a couple of disciples on their way to Emmaus. They were talking about what had happened to Jesus. Jesus pointed them to God’s Word, and beginning with Moses and the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself (Luke 24:13-27). A Bible study led by Jesus??? We just finished up the 2nd Semester of Intentional Discipleship Studies here at LTCC. If you did not have an opportunity to participate this time around, we’ll have some exciting new classes in the fall. Until that time arrives, I encourage you to remain in the Word daily, and see the beauty of God’s redemptive plan in Christ found in Scripture. He has risen indeed!

Ministry Minute

WOMEN

Leanne Needham

Deacon

It’s a busy spring in Women’s Ministry! Here are a few of the highlights:

ANNUAL WOMEN’S RETREAT

On March 21-23 many of us went away to Rainbow Lodge in North Bend. Our Theme was “Fear Nots & Forget Me Nots” Our weekend included time in the Word, prayer, worship in song, personal reflection, fellowship, crafts, an impactful time of communion and fun! It’s not too early to mark next year’s retreat on your calendar: March 20-22, 2026.

DESSERT WITH THE MIDDLEKAUFFS

During the evening of April 11, we gathered together for dessert and had the opportunity to get to know our new pastor, Andrew Middlekauff and his sweet wife, Edith. What a blessing it was to hear their genuine heart for the Lord and to experience their love for the women in our fellowship.

APRIL PLANTING EVENT

THIS weekend we’ll gather together to plant spring flower baskets. You are invited to come away from your busy schedule for a while as we focus together on Jesus. Our theme is "Be Still. . . . and Know He is your SAVIOR!" As our Savior, He calls us to abide in Him. Just as the plant depends upon the soil, water, and sunlight, we too must walk in dependence upon Jesus.

Come enjoy some time to be creative, get your hands dirty and pot a beautiful spring flower basket to take home. Coffee, tea and light snacks will be served. Childcare is available. Registration for this event will close on Friday, April 25 @ 9 a.m.

MAY 17TH WOMEN’S BREAKFAST

Join us for the last breakfast of the ministry year on May 17 at 9 a.m. Joell Pascua will be sharing the testimony of God’s work in her life. Registration is open now.

CONNECTIONS

While there are many opportunities to gather in larger groups, one on one ministry is also very valuable. Do you need encouragement? Do you need prayer?Would you like an older woman in the faith to come alongside you in this season of life? Please reach out to me leeanne@laketappscc.org and I will help make the connections.

It’s a blessing to serve alongside and magnify the LORD with the women of our church. I hope to see you at our upcoming events!
