LOVED BY THE FATHER
Last month, in order to deliver stellar sermons to LTCC, I bought a thesaurus. When I got home and opened it, all the pages were blank. I have no words to describe how angry I was. Haha! That was funny. If you want to save that dad joke, you can store it in your “Dada-base” free of charge.
This Sunday is Father’s Day in America. A day that we celebrate and honor the fathers, or father figures in our lives. I am grateful for the things my dad did well for our family and there was a lot, but he wasn’t perfect. Like none of us are.
We are all in need of grace and forgiveness. God the Father provided that grace and forgiveness through the work of his Son Jesus Christ for all who trust in him. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, we can know that we are children of God by faith, and have been adopted into His family as sons and daughters. What’s more, we can cry out to God, “Abba! Father!”, which expresses a personal, tender, trusting childlike relationship between us and our Father in heaven (Romans 8:15-16).
When the soul of Jesus Christ was full of sorrow because of what he was about to endure on the cross, he cried out to the Father, “Abba”. He entrusted himself to his Father’s care in the most difficult of times. We can address God in the same manner as Jesus, not only in the difficult times, but at all times. Hallelujah!
Perhaps Father’s Day is difficult for you. I pray you would find much comfort and peace in knowing your status as a child of God. Loved by the Father.
P.S. Pastor Andrew will be here very soon! He doesn’t officially start until early July. Please give him and his family some space to get settled in. Thank you!

As we finalize our preparations for the Middlekauffs arrival later this week, I reflect on the past year with immense gratitude! A few weeks ago, I mentioned Luke Sutherlands invaluable role as our “on-site caretaker.” However, I want to emphasize the unwavering support from so many of you. Men, women, and children have come together to make a remarkable impact at LTCC, particularly in getting the parsonage ready.
It’s truly uplifting to witness our church family unite, showcasing love and dedication to our shared space. Your contributions not only beautify our facilities but also foster a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone who visits.
Thank you for your time, energy, prayers, and encouragement! Together, we are nurturing a vibrant and welcoming community.
