Got Rhythm?

You already know the Bible is precious. You’ve experienced its power to comfort, challenge, and guide. But maybe at times in your daily reading you long for more understanding. You’re not alone, and you’re not behind. You’re being invited deeper.

“The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple” (Psalm 119:130). God’s Word is more than a source of encouragement, it’s a revelation of God’s character, His plan for humanity, and His invitation to know Him personally. Daily reading is a beautiful rhythm, and Scripture also calls us to careful study, not just passing familiarity.

Make it easier and more joyful by weaving it into your life: listen to an audio Bible during your commute, reflect on a single verse written on a notecard, or enjoy a quiet moment with Scripture and coffee each morning. These small habits, or daily rhythms, open the door for bigger transformation.

To go deeper, try picking one book, like John, Romans, or Philippians and read slowly. Check the upcoming sermon verses on the LTCC website and read the whole chapter or book for context.  Look for repeated words, themes, and truths. Use a study Bible, a trusted commentary or a helpful app to explore historical context and meaning. Journal your insights and questions: What does this reveal about God? What response does it invite?

And let’s not go it all alone—studying with others can spark deeper understanding and  lasting encouragement. Whether it’s a small group, a Bible study partner, or an upcoming intentional discipleship course, God uses community to grow our faith.

Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). God’s Word is meant to nourish and transform us. We’re not studying to impress Him…we’re coming to know the One who loves us deeply.

Women’s Ministry recently organized a shower of blessings for the Middlekauffs upon their arrival in Washington. Opportunity was given for our church to fill their refrigerator and freezer with meals and goodies and to bless them with some gift cards as they set up and decorate their new home.

Thank you, LTCC Family for responding to the call! In typical LTCC generosity, their panty, spice cupboard, refrigerator, freezer and countertops were lavishly filled with love and blessing from our LTCC family. Originally we thought of putting all non-perishable items on the parsonage kitchen counters, but we soon had to shift that plan as groceries were piled too high and there wasn’t enough space to contain all of the love!

It was so fun to be at the parsonage to welcome the Middlekauffs and see their reaction to your love and generosity! Pastor Andrew asked me to make sure you all knew just how much they appreciate this blessing. He wrote:

“Dear LTCC Family,

We cannot thank you enough for all the thought, sacrifice, and love you have shown our family! We want to thank those who helped us move here, those who prepared the parsonage, and those who gave us food, supplies and gift cards. You are all so kind and generous – for that we are very thankful.

Pastor Andrew, Edith and Family”
