Thank You...
“3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. 6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
Phil. 1:3-6
Ronda and I have been overwhelmed for 2 years by you, our LTCC church family, demonstrating the kindness and love of Christ. The going away party last Sunday was such a blessing to us. Thank you for the generous gift card from the church, all the other gifts, the book of remembrance, all the notes, kind words, affection, attention and time spent in preparation and fellowship. I am stumbling over my words here because of the blessings God gave us in you- not just this Sunday, but every day.
“I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, 5 that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge— 6 even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you— 7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
1 Cor. 1:4-9
We hope to visit here in the future, but without being a distraction. We are so excited to see this next era with Pastor Andrew at the helm as first among equals (on the elder team) here at LTCC. Of course you are always welcome to visit us in Fresno or wherever God calls us. LTCC together, and you individually are so special to us!
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
1 Cor. 15: 58
I am preaching this Sunday June 29. I will have a small part in installing Pastor Andrew in the July 6 service. He will preach that day and I will head back to Fresno before the reception, so I hope to get to say good-bye before that day. I am not good at keeping it short and sweet, so let me wrap up by saying thank you, we love you and here are some final thoughts:
“but God gave the growth. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.”
1 Cor. 3:6b-7
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
Gal. 6:9-10: 9
I would love to quote most of Hebrews 12 and 13, but I’ll leave you with this from Hebrews 12:1-2:
“1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Love ya,
Bob
